The Twelve Inch 230 : Do You Wanna Bump? : Soul/Disco - 1976

Ever since I started writing The Twelve Inch and mixing its soundtrack, I've been falling deeper in love with the disco years before Saturday Night Fever.

What a wonderful period! So many brilliantly produced and arranged songs, some of which we've almost forgotten.

This week's Go Dancin' is an action-packed celebration of those years. We kick off with Boney M, the only Eurodisco track in a set otherwise packed with R&B-based disco, the Philadelphia sound and Tom Moulton's mixing magic.

I'm particularly proud of this one. It comes closer than ever to the ideal disco mixtape I've had playing in my head for years. 😁

Familiar classics, a few hidden gems and a killer finale with Rose Royce, Thelma Houston and MFSB.

And you know what I always say: if you manage to sit still through this one, go see a doctor. Something is definitely wrong! 😂

Now swing your ass off! 🪩 Enjoy!
