This week’s Disco Mix Monday is a continuation of Friday’s mix. On Friday, I focused on Space Disco—the European side of dance music in 1980. By then, disco was already evolving, especially after the backlash in 1979. Underground artists like Rick James brought a funk-driven edge to dance music, paving the way for what would later be known as synth-funk. But in 1980, we were still riding the last waves of ‘70s disco.
