The Twelve Inch 222 : (Everybody) Get Dancin' : Disco/Funk/Eurodisco - 1979

In the second episode of my Can-Con Month series, we’re heading straight for peak disco. The year is 1979, and my younger self buys the twelve-inch of The Bombers’ (Everybody) Get Dancin’. It would become one of my most cherished twelve-inches.
The Bombers were a Canadian studio project that scored a massive dancefloor hit with the track in 1979. It even became a (small) pop hit in Europe.
The Bombers kick off the soundtrack to my second Substack episode on Canadian disco and the story of how Montréal became disco’s second city after New York.
Everybody Get Dancing is exactly what I was aiming for with this week’s mix. The Bombers lead us into a classic HQ vocal disco set, packed with some excellent gems from 1979. A number of them were Canadian-produced, and most were major dancefloor hits.
