The Twelve Inch 217 : In The Bush : Disco/Eurodisco/Hi-NRG - 1978

We’re getting a move on in this week’s set. Musique’s classic In The Bush kicks things off, launching a true peak disco/Hi-NRG journey where the BPM never drops below 130. We’re back in 1978, when fast-moving disco records were all the rage and Eurodisco was ruling the roost.

Yet most of this week’s selection is American-made, with the Saturday Night Band, Dan Hartman, Poussez!, Tempest Trio and Linda Clifford following hot on the heels of Musique.

There’s an overtly LGBTQ+ section in the middle featuring Sylvester, Easy Going, Revanche and Midnight Rhythm.

I’ve also dug out a couple of deep cuts, Dalton & Dubarri’s I Can Dance All By Myself and The Raes’ Don’t Turn Around.

Frankie Valli, Marlene Shaw, Voyage and ABBA guarantee a sparkling finale. And as always, sitting still is not an option.
