Chic’s fingerprints are all over modern dance music, from weddings to warehouse parties, and you hear it every time someone drops Good Times, We Are Family or, the focus of Pe’s latest Substack piece, Le Freak.
For this swapcast with The Twelve Inch, I’ve put together a 60‑minute set built from remixes, re-edits, re-imaginings and samples of Chic‑related material: records written, produced or played on by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.
It’s part tribute, part Easter‑egg hunt; I found some lovely left‑turns and subtle nods while digging in the collection, a few of which genuinely surprised me.
