Description
“I Like To Move It” kicks off our journey into the vibrant, genre-blending world of early ’90s house. While house music hadn’t yet fully broken into the U.S. pop charts, that didn’t stop American artists from weaving its elements into their sound or tapping top-tier remixers to rework their singles for the dancefloor. This week’s mix features two prime examples: Janet Jackson’s pulsating “Throb” and Paula Abdul’s groove-heavy “Vibeology.”
Following up on our earlier deep dive into Hithouse’s “Jack To The Sound Of The Underground,” we’re also exploring the evolution of Eurodance — a genre that was rapidly finding its identity. U96’s submarine anthem “Das Boot” made serious waves, and the mix builds to a high-energy close with three defining tracks from the era: the soulful funk of Sonic Surfers, the rave-ready madness of Chimo Bayo, and the raw club power of Fierce Ruling Diva. Enjoy!
