My apologies my dear friends of the Disco Mix Monday. I went a bit on a tangent on this week’s episode. I set out intending to shine a spotlight on the gay disco scene of the late ‘70s—just before SF & UK Hi-NRG took the stage. Specifically, I wanted to celebrate an Italian production that remains one of my all-time favorites: Revanche by the brilliant Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi. But I went a bit deep (pun intended) on the more seedy aspects of the genre. Expect some camp, some double entendres and some covers you didn’t expect. I even got a (splendidly produced) rendition of Hava Nagila in there somewhere. Enjoy !
