Description
The Hills Of Katmandu and Tantra gave me the freedom to dive into one of my favourite late seventies and early eighties subgenres: electronic Eurodisco and spacedisco. It’s synths almost all the way through, and whenever I bring in an American disco track, it’s one clearly touched by European influence.
The opening trio is pure Italian disco. Alongside Tantra, you’ll hear the big dancefloor hit from Harry Thumann that also made waves on the US dancefloors, plus the instrumental and only true Eurodisco cut on The Glow of Love, aptly titled The End.
As usual, I dig a little deeper in the middle section with The Space Project and Marc Harris. But there are plenty of familiar dancefloor highlights that stay true to the theme: The Real Thing, Lime, Pattie Brooks, Fever and Ferrara.
There's a pouncing finale with The Peter Jacques Band, The Three Degrees, Amanda Lear and Sylvia Love.
This is pure Hi-NRG, so you’ll need all “the force” you can get.
