Description
This week's New Noise includes an Andy Votel-produced Gruff Rhys gem, a new single from The Neat, a dynamite demo from Leicester's We Three and the Death Rattle and a debut from Evan Voytas, which is easy listening in the best possible fashion. That's alongside Aussie duo Lazy Dre, a free download from Kurt Vile, a 1981 underground synth-pop gem by RUTH, a highlight from Suuns recent album and folk pop loveliness from Shugo Tokumaru's upcoming 4th record.
Satisfyingly frenetic Leeds lot Pulled Apart by Horses are also included, for two reasons: 1 - I love them like Rooney loves checking his balance, and 2 - I want to shout about a live radio session they're doing this Friday from 7pm on BBC 6 Music. Tom Robinson is on holiday and I've been asked to cover him, meaning I'll also get to play lots of songs I like live on the radio for for a couple of hours.
I'm off to work out what I might play as my opening song. It may take a while.
Thanks for listening
Jon
