Who is DJ NO MC?…If you know, you know…if you don’t it’s hard to explain, you kinda have to listen to this entire podcast to properly answer this question. To put it in some context, he is a ubiquitous part of the Brisbane music landscape being a long term announcer on Brisbane’s legendary community radio 4ZZZ since the early 80’s also a lifelong guitar player, and singer songwriter. We talk about how he navigated the 80’s punk wave which put Brisbane on the musical map and confesses how he purposely grabbed the radio slot directly after the Phat Tape Hip Hop show to prevent its huge audience from immediately switching channels once it ended. NO MC had a Birds Eye view of the dynamic musical scene in Brisbane especially as it blew up in the 90’s and he has plenty of tales to tell about it.
