I’m DJ Mr Lob from Melbourne and often after a gig on a winter’s Friday night in the city, I will drive my classic 1963 Chrysler Valiant AP5 to my country house in East Warburton, which is a 1.5 hours drive. It’s a little cottage on 1/2 acre, on a dirt road in the forest, across the road from the Yarra River and surrounded by mountains in the narrow river valley. Once I leave the city lights behind, it gets dark, real dark and it is often foggy and misty, with animals occasionally on the road but a sky if clear, filled with stars. After banging tunes to make people dance and uplift them, I like to listen to jazzy, downtempo hip hop sounds, mostly instrumental to wind down and help me stay awake and aware for my drive to East Warburton. I often make myself mixes like this one to drive to, so I hope you dig this head nodders delight as much as I do and one day if you’re lucky enough, you get to do a late night/early morning drive into the forest at East Warburton...
