The 1st disc Ito bring to a deserted island will be Shouting At The Ground by :Zoviet*France – along with Gentle Side of John Coltrane & Ascenseur pour l'échafaud by Miles Davis. This may be because this particular disc has a long personal history: It has stood by me, enchanted & provoked me for a long period of self-imposed hermitude in the south of France and elsewhere. It justifies and lionizes the very solitary life that is both sought and endured. Never mind I only have it on a poor-quality cassette. In 1999, participated in an art exhibit entitled “Small Objects That Changed Your Life” in De Appel Arts Centre in Amsterdam. Placed this tape with the below self-made cover – a small detail clipped from a Bruegel painting in a magazine + dried Paris leaf – into the exhibit with short explanation.
