Trying to avoid easy sentiment on this 1168th radio show… and also easy sarcasm & irony & satire during this over-the-top season is not … easy. Trying to avoid the pop and over-played, over-praised Xmas songs is also no easy matter. If you hear any song too many times it tends to begin to work like sandpaper on your emotions. That is why I tried to keep it to ambiences, to general emotions, not attached to products or cliches. I prefer songs about the season, the weather, the altered landscapes and I hope you will like the direction I have taken you in - away from the explicit and right into the heart of the impression of a season. I just fool around and see what works; allow things, colors, sounds to find their rightful place so that they interact unusually with their neighbors & surroundings.
