God Lied! Last time we spoke, he reassured me he'd leave FMU alone – “high & dry” were his very words, altho I did sense a hint of sarcasm. WFMU is where I learned to listen, DJ & file records alphabetically in the mid-80s. It got hit hard by Hurricane Sandy to the tune of $250,000.
Wreck WFMU Wet, a soundscape tribute to FMU, was put together from my collection of archival tapes, real ocean & hurricane sounds, snippets borrowed from the FMU archives, other sound bits/bites & music that fits the spirit of FMU. I lean heavily on DJs that my ears evolved with. But I also scavenged thru some newer archival material.
