RIP Christina [14.5.24–22.8.18]. My mom confessed to liking only 2 songs – Raindrops Keep Falling & My Sweet Lord – hence the many versions. Also some Mozart, Chopin & songs from “olden times” [30-50s]. She didn’t enjoy much of a life the last yrs so when she died it was sad but also a relief. Unburdened from the helplessness that you cannot improve someone’s life. The war took it's toll: it has hidden lingering effects on survivors that are often ignored. Survivors carrying around a hidden world of dismay, angst, disorientation – an inability to just enjoy a LIVED life. Inc. words by Ginsberg, Patchen & TS Eliot – after all, there’s nothing wrong with entering the realm of mourning where grief lurks, as long as you don’t linger there too long.
