16.05.18: Glenn Branca has produced some of the most exhiliaring & transcendent sounds I have heard. If I had to name a single piece of music as a favorite I might say something by Coltrane or Miles Davis but I would probably in the end go for Movement 7 from The World Upside Down. There was something that attracted me to his sounds that I could not put my finger on but it is his visceral & dynamic tendency toward anarchy, toward Situationism & rejecting most any hint of commercial consideration. He was an outsider, not a partygoer, a soul that sought its own way through a rotting world in the best or only way he knew how – throgh music. RIP Glenn Branca...
