Wreck This Mess ~ Amsterdam ~ Ethno-Illogical Psycho-Radiographies ~ 23.08.14 / retro glimpse – retrieved 2 cassettes of WTM show “Timpanic Antic Mess” 4.1.94 – 20 years ago. I had the same instincts, weaknesses & bad habits: disorienting variety, beats, mixing obscure & forgotten with irredeemable, ignored & political – a desire to tell a non-linear narrative through song & sound. I hide behind declarations that it's just a hobby [never earning much] & never had a desire to become a dance club DJ – altho if I'd started earlier & younger, I probably would have. I also justify my never having been interested in electronic audio technology as a preference for simple, DIY & the related challenge of doing more with less. I can’t believe that it has been almost 30 years of radio, which other than words enchantingly aligned, the alignment of sounds and seques of musics that are strangers to one another is as close as I get to liberation theology.
