The Pop Group is back & Paloma & I will be seeing them on Nov. 27 in Amsterdam's Paradiso. This is great news because Mark Stewart & the gang are true inspirations for the combination of politics, anarcho-communal-DIY, noise, dub, dance & a little chaos. Their new album Honeymoon on Mars, produced by dubster Dennis Bovell is definitely worth the time. I have included sample clips from Orwell, Emma Goldman, on the 1 hand, & scoundrels like Nixon, Clinton, Thatcher, Raygun, Drumpf + Debord, & the original Henri Pousseur “Trois visages” that Mark Stewart & Maffia used on Liberty City. I also included some Stewart collabs with Lee Scratch Perry, Primal Scream, Ari Up & the Maffia... Plus extra bonus: samples from a brilliant 2014 interview by WFMU DJ Diane Kamikaze Farris with Mark.
