Novelty songs are a favorite from way back – it probably began with “Surfin’ Bird" by the Trashmen. In a world of self-seriousness where culture is packed in parcels of significance it is nice to hear novelty records take the piss out of seriousness because serious music, serious lyrics, serious intentions often come across as ... hypocritical or at least not totally convincing – like, yea, sure. Punk, in it’s earliest Sex Pistols/Slits/Ramones, incarnations built on this iconoclasm through laughter. Enjoy & get healthy...
