Deep stirring extended [re]mix featuring jazz & poetry blown up & reconstructed. This will not sit well with many purists and traditionalists but the best of jazz has always sought the edge of acceptability & in that spirit, today’s listener-musicians have chosen to listen to jazz by engaging honoring & remixing it, sometimes to startling effect. The beauty of the most engaged jazz is how elegant & supple & essential they can make protest sound. Some of these younger sound manipulators have truly managed to enhance, even reinvent the very essence of jazz. It is not always successful but almost always intriguing. I have added some poetry that in one way or another fits into the spirit & have applied some of my own primitive DIY remix tricks. WTM: Making of the sacred past a living present.
