Wreck This Mess ~ Amsterdam ~ Ethno-Illogical Psycho-Radiographies ~ 05.03.15
Reconstructed "Live Radio / Dead Father" Radio show, 06.11.07, on 5th anniversary of my father’s death. The songs & TV + comedy bits were among his faves & conjure up many images to remind me of how he stimulated my initial interest in recording & re-ordering music. His music choices are surprisingly upbeat – perky, playful, sultry with suggestive lyrics, & sing-along melodies. & boy did he sing, hum & lala along to these popular [no-rock] hits. He loved sexy female singers inc. Peggy Lee & Charo, the Gogos, Blondie, Dolly Parton & Cyndi Lauper. Bill & Tina HATED rock especially whiney guitar solos. The music recalls vivid memories, each song with its own lingering packet of details – an audio-mnemonics exercise that led to “Audio/Visual MnemoTechnics” column at Urban Graffitti.
