04.07.20 Independence Day The time was right & I’m glad I ventured here because I discovered so much great music, much of it I could not even use. The main detail I noticed was that since recorded music, Blacks have produced an amazing array of moving but also sharply analytical political songs. Another thing struck me: The more things change, the more they remain the same. 2020 looks much like 1967-1968 when the USA exploded for many of the same reasons & people demanded change then. 52 years later, the same demands are being made. What also struck me is how articulate the Black Panthers & other Black activists were. A very sharpt analysis of what ails America – & much of the world. The rapcious accumulation of capital by the few.
