This is not my first antiwar radio show. Not by a long shot. That is the problem. Antiwar songs, culture in general is like a growth industry – the list is endless as there is, thus far, no end to conflict. Maybe they fortify us and offer spiritual reprieves, a few moments breathing room, but it has yet to put a real dent in war-mongering. I produced this radio show as an outgrowth of helping daughter, Paloma Jet, put together a mix CD of anti-gun songs for the recent Anti-Gun demo in Amsterdam. I have done antiwar shows before – MANY times, actually, since my earliest days on WFMU in the basement of Froberg Hall on the campus of the now-bankrupt Upsala College in East Orange, NJ. Shows that featured songs against Reagan, against the Contras, against so many hypocrisies and conflicts – Grenada!
