Finding a relation between Burial, Massive Attack, Fleetwood Mac, KLF & Mystic Moods Orchestra emerged from some inherent shared sonic ideal, an appreciation for ambience that fascinates in its inclusiveness & generosity. I suddenly heard this relation between Burial/MA & FM [Peter Green] & the oft weirdly engaging – I’m not sure why – MMO & Fantastic Sounds, creators of 60s-70s engaging ambient tales. & Burial is right on the mark in the heart of dub, ambience & darker speculative, stuff. Why “Albatross”? Cuz it was 1 of the 1st ambient rock that fascinated & enchanted when I was still young. Its glorious melancholy revealed a positive side to melancholy bordering on reflection. & what came through in the cover versions was the melody's surf sound integrity.
