The death of Mark McCawley outlaw author & champ of the marginalized & transgressive in the arts: What to do. The edit-remixing here allows me to focus on his words – over & over. He died in hometown Edmonton, CA in April at 52, way too young. The best too often die too young. I vowed way back to NOT wait until people die to “show” my appreciation... & yet, every time a friend dies it’s already too late to say “I appreciate you”...
To Mark’s raw, working class Selby-Bukowski-esque poetry. I added 2 Albertan: Bruce Haack & KD Lang & 2 he loved: South Africa’s Die Antwoord & Captain Beefheart & fed that into a contemplative/melancholy mix of minimalist-inspired music.
