Content producer, presenter, founding member and former music editor of gal-dem, Tone will be showcasing talents from young Afro-Caribbean creative diasporans that include music artists, playwrights, actors, entrepreneurs. This show aims to build a space to celebrate the diversity and to champion different styles and approaches creatives can have while still being a part of the diaspora.
For this month’s show, Tone is joined by Wahalaa.
Wahalaa is an inclusive and joyful black dance party created by Tele OG and Tshaka Ballantyne. They focus on playing warm and danceable music from out of Africa and its Diaspora in the Caribbean, Americas, Europe and beyond. Wahalaa is a space to dance, be free and celebrate our cultures, ourselves and each other. The last Wahalaa of 2019 is on Saturday 30 November at the Jago, Dalston.
