Nick has been involved in the scene for the past 25 years, present through UK club culture’s formative scenes: Hip Hop Jams of the Eighties, into Rare Groove, the Summer of Love, 90s underground parties, before embarking on a love affair with Japan, which turned into a 20 year residency.
Part of the grassroots DIY scene in Japan, he formed ‘Lifeforce’ a legendary party which matched elements of the UK underground with sonic influences from around the globe. In more recent years Nick has been sharing his music closer to home, with a trademark focus on quality of sound which forms the core ethos of his party ‘Tangent’ (ran with John Gomez), labels Natural House & Record Mission, alongside revered vinyl-trading platform DJ Friendly Records. He’s also renowned for an enviably extensive record collection of rare gems, so thanks to Nick for sharing some with us in this mix!
