As dance music historian of sorts, the old school raver turned dj in 1995, Jay “VonFunkhauser” Cooper, spins tunes that pay homage to the good ol’ days when disco and funk ruled the dance floor. Drawing inspiration from all styles and eras of dance music; funk, disco, soul, jazz, r&b, hip -hop, afro beat and all styles of house. Jay has been delivering music to the underground dance community for over 20 years. Bringing the analog and digital worlds together in perfect harmony: funky, uplifting, hypnotic, deep but dancable, wether in the club or in the lounge or on the playa, Jays sets are meant to take you on a journey through time. Music that awakens the conscious, with an emphasis on seamless transitions meant to keep you going onward and upward. Ear crafted mixes that push the boundaries of what dance music can be, not just synthisizers and drum machines,(though there’s plenty of that) but real people playing real instruments too. All locked together in a steady danceable groove.
