Ramble Rave 7 - Wirksworth to Brassington

For the 7th Ramble Rave I'm joined by two old friends who I had last seen properly in the flesh prior to the Pandemic. Going along with the Ramble Rave nonsense are Gordon and John who spent a good chunk of the early 90s living in Manchester as students. Club veterans from back in the day, frequenters of The Hacienda, Most Excellent, Naked Under Leather, Bugged Out, Venus and a multitude of other classic nights, as well as trips over to the White Isle.
We set out on a 13 mile hike starting in the Derbyshire cultural hotspot of Wirksworth before reaching Middleton Top, then Carsington and stopping for a much needed drink in The Miner's Arms in Brassington.
Then we head back towards the High Peak Trail, heading past Longcliffe and down to the National Stone Centre before making our way to Wirksworth and a visit to the Royal Oak, a happening and quirky hub in the town. The hike officially ends with a trip to the legendary Poet's Corner pub in Ashover and a drink by a roaring fire.
