Goodbye Tina Turner. This took me way back to the Partykeller of my parents, where i started DJIng and „Nutbush City Limits“ was a huge filler. Blueprint. Check the beats. Like a programmed line of arrangement for todays House music. She left us after being ill at the age of 83. What a role model , what a life Tina Turner went through. And finally found her peace in Switzerland. Too many to pick, but i mainly stuck with the 7inches i found in my mother’s little sideboard, a real treasure box. And in fact my history. The most surprising thing TT did was her collaboration with Herbie Hancock. Stunningly brilliant. Although she may have said „too soft“ back in the 80s like when she was asked to record Al Green’s „Let’s Stay Together“ as a kick off for her then huge comeback. Tina was the queen of Rock’n’Roll speaking of big stages and all over the world. More stories in the show, my friend Oli Rubow joined me for the tribute. Thanks for coming in so spontaneously.
