tryin' times. hello & welcome! first soulsearching in ´24. of course featuring some Les McCann & related tunes, artists from around the late 60’s early 70’s phase - had so many records with me and could only pick a few originals (Layers 1973!) plus a sneak into what had musically been around from back then. And although my idea was to play the Roberta or McCann/Harris version which is still one for the dance, i went with that brandnew recording of „Compared To What“ by Kahil El’Zabar & his Ethnic Heritage Ensemble. A few bits of the now & future as well in there, a fantastic ambient album coming out of Paris, the outstanding bass player Joshua Abrams and a tune pre Natural Information Society, and a late, or early (?) airing of the beautiful „Silent Night“ by Nick & Jessica.
2024 also marks the return of selected guestmixes on soulsearching as well, first up will be Rainer Trüby next week … Looking foward to this!
