Introducing a new series, Real Treasures - Albums that made / make a mark. First up is Carole King’s „Fantasy“, an album which i have been rediscovering. A lesson in songwriting, as is the whole early 70s phase of Carole King anyway. And above that, full of Soulful Jazz vibes also. With a brilliant cast of musicians like Harvey Mason, Ms. Bobbye Hall, David T. Walker, Ernie Watts, Tom Scott and a full string section. Check the footage of the band’s Montreux Jazz Festival show 1973, introducing the full „Fantasy“ album. Played the full b-side of „Fantasy“, a concept opus, some might say it’s a break up story, too. Not sure about this. But it’s about relationships for sure. Be it very personal or in general. Also in the selection some new stuff like the 7inch by Larry (aka Lars Dorsch) & Twit One, that brilliant collaboration of Jonah Yano & BBNG, and Skinny Pelembe is back as well, now signed to Partisan Records. Looking very much forward to the full album this spring/summer!
