Soulpersona is British producer, composer, remixer and DJ Morgan Howell. Rooted in soul, jazz-funk, rare groove and disco, his signature sound combines the warmth of classic recordings with rich arrangements, cinematic textures and an instinctive feel for groove.
Since his debut album Soulacoaster in 2009, his catalogue has grown through solo releases and collaborations with Princess Freesia, keyboardist Carl Hudson and trumpeter Bryan Corbett. His albums with Corbett, Magnetica and Aurora, explore their shared love of instrumental jazz-funk and soulful arrangements. He also served as musical director for two UK shows with soul legend Leon Ware in 2010.
Away from the studio, Howell is the author of How Not To Be a Music Producer. His DJ selections draw from the same musical world as his productions: deep soul, jazz-funk, overlooked gems and records with a lasting presence
