"One evening, 33 years later, I told my two teenage sons about my first dance steps on one of Stockholm's main shopping streets in the early 1980s. I shared how we used to dance outside the entrance of the department store Åhléns on Drottninggatan near the access to the subway. One of us guys was collecting a few appreciative coins in a cap. These coins would pay for burgers and vinyl records. Suddenly, my youngest son asks, 'Dad, were you a beggar?' Our streets and squares are not unsafe, nor are they made up of beggars and criminals. On the contrary, we find exuberant creativity that deserves attention on our streets. In times like these, when identity and nationalism question multiculturalism, it is more important than ever to tell the story of a culture that is part of Swedish cultural heritage. On that basis and with that background, you get to immerse yourself in this story of Swedish Hip Hop history."
