Born in the culturally rich town of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, in 1991, Robert Rajeswaran, known to his fans as DJ Rob R, brings a unique blend of ethnic sounds to the electronic music scene. Growing up in London, Rob R was immersed in the vibrant beats of R&B, hip hop, and dancehall. These early influences laid the foundation for his eclectic musical taste.
Inspired by legendary Black Coffee and the recognition he has brought to Afro House, Rob R aims to elevate South Asia /Indian House music to similar heights. His sets are carefully crafted to reflect the audience, location, and desired vibe, with a mix of must-play tracks and spontaneous selections that match the energy of the crowd.
Looking ahead, Rob R's goals are ambitious and focused. He aims to take ethnic music to the masses by performing at major festivals like Coachella and Burning Man. His vision is to connect with diverse audiences, sharing the rich cultural sounds that define his music.
