Novelist Jonathan Coe: "My life has been immeasurably enriched by the way Chris has discovered and evangelized for so many brilliant new artists over the last few years. His show is a bit like Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone on 6 Music but without (to use his own phrase) ‘the stuff that makes your ears bleed’. LA Composer Brian Woodbury: "Curve Ball is a great program with an erudite host that is obviously put together with great effort and care. It is always worth checking out for interesting new music in a variety of styles. He is a prog fan, but a lot more, and he has a soft spot for the mellifluous and the downright pretty. I happen to like pretty. I highly recommend the show." Chicago composer, John Elmquist: "There’s a weekly music show from the UK called The Curve Ball, hosted by Chris Evans. Over the years it’s become my go-to podcast for discovering new and unusual music. Every time I listen, I am turned on to some unfamiliar artist or group."
