Bass Culture was a podcast anchored in classic roots reggae and dub from Jamaica, but also explored the groovy sounds of soul, funk, and Afrobeat. Bass Culture's musical compass moved in many directions, but the needle always points to music with a message. Although no new episodes are being produced, this online archive remains for everyone to enjoy. Blissfully unaware of pop music for the past two decades, Mick Sleeper operates in a musical vacuum where Auto Tune doesn't exist, The Sonics still rock, and King Tubby runs things.
