"Professor Garcia has his own genre, his own recipe, his own je ne sais quoi that only a true sorceror of curation and veteran of collection could have.
At Juke Joint, we learned that if we want to know if you're listening, we just drop a mix by Mark "What the Fuck is This Record" Garcia.
I drive around in my car listening to his shit and every 2 1/2 minutes muttering to myself, "What the fuck is this?" Mark is on some other shit. He exists on his own interesting planet where all of his sounds have a sonic, nostalgic, and visceral quality indigenous only to him.
We've been collecting records for a long fucking time. Longer, no doubt, than some of "you listeners" have been alive, and we've never met a cat so true to his own game. So, grab a comfortable pair of headphones that play shit loud, and put them on. It's time for the Garcia Show."
