Throwing Up The W...The first in a series of Westcoast Classic Hip Hop mixes every Friday night for the next month.
Part One goes back to the beginning with early westcoast groups like the World Class Wreckin' Crew, Uncle Jamm's Army, Egyptian Lover, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, Mixmaster Spade and Toddy Tee.
These mixes are an epic labour of love that have been bubbling away in my mind for quite some time. If you love G Funk and Westcoast rap and know all the words to Gin and Juice and want to listen to a shit-tonne more low rider favourites from Diego to the Bay, Sea-Town even these mixes are the shiznit.
All fully mixed to fit in as many bangers as possible and still barely scratching the surface of the genre. While the mixes are not chronological, Part One is firmly set in the 80's and the style is still unmistakably funk-infused Westcoast dopeness.
So grab a bottle of Hennesey on your way home from work tonight and get ready for a trunk of funk.
