20 FROM ’01 | THE HI54 YEARBOOK MIXES

THE HI54 YEARBOOK MIXES continues by going back to when I was graduating high school with no real plans except to head to a different hemisphere with a couple buddies. 2001. The same year that 9/11 happened — a month before I was about to get on an airplane for the first time, leading to Canadian flags being sewn on backpacks so nobody would mistake us for war mongering Americans & our multi-stop tickets being changed to no longer stop in Malaysia and instead head straight to the less-Islamic-feeling Australia.

And, to be honest, the last few months of 2001 are a bit of a down under blur, which probably explains why our first-time-living-on-our-own asses would pretty much be out of money by 2002 and picking vegetables in the hot sun to survive (aka: get beer money).

And somewhere cool the soundtrack sounded a bit like this.
