Raised in the west, trained in the Motown, rooted in NYC, DJ KEV CEE reaches deep into the archives of American soul music, tracing links between jazz, funk, disco, hip hop, and global traditions of dance music from Cuba, Brazil, Nigeria, Euro rave culture, and countless other corners of the world where musical gems continue to spring up with the right spirit to lift you up and get you moving and feeling right. With years of study in piano, bass, improvisation and production, he brings a uniquely spontaneous and cohesive approach to turntablism always rooted in the beat, yet with a kaleidoscopic tapestry of sound.
