Moores Park in Lansing MI, where I grew up, is a place infused with many musical experiences, influences, and memories, particularly given the proximity to Detroit and it's rich musical heritage. The time period I spent in this area, from the 70's until the 90's, also has considerable influence. The name "DJ Moores Park", then, represents the terroir that shaped my musical tastes, spanning from Detroit techno and house, to dub techno, deep house, ambient, and jazz. The pronunciation of "Moores" is somewhere between Morris and Moore's.
