I'm a dance DJ for Brazilian Zouk, Ecstatic Dance, and West Coast Swing.
In ecstatic dance, I’ve learned how much power we have as DJs to influence people’s moods. I try not to take this responsibility lightly, and design the emotional arc of my sets very intentionally. Unless necessary, my sets are not very mainstream: I prefer to DJ (and dance) late at night or in secondary chill rooms, for a calmer and more immersive experience, and for an audience of like-minded weirdos. My sets can be described as dream-like, cinematic, sometimes psychedelic, and, if the audience allows, experimental.
