DJ Chia is a performance artist with many talents, a musical "jack of all trades." Born and raised in New Jersey, their music is rooted in the sonic tapestry of NYC/NJ- woven from threads of jazz, disco, soul, hiphop, garage, house, dub, reggae, jungle, techno, and rock. Their studies in ethnomusicology and electroacoustic music composition at Dartmouth College from 1994-1998 sparked a passion for learning that continues to bring new influences, genres, and sounds into their repertoire as a working performance artist based in Vermont.
Since 1994, Chia has been producing underground dance music and playing parties at clubs, bars, afterhours, and other private events. With 30+ years of experience, they have performed for crowds in the USA, Canada, and Europe.
