DaniVersaL (Daniel Agullo) was a DJ from 1986 to 2008, playing across three decades of music—from ’80s disco to house—at clubs throughout Barcelona. He stepped away from the decks after seven years as resident DJ at Universal, one of Barcelona’s best-known clubs in the early 2000s. In 2005, he represented Spain in the Corona World DJ Contest as the country’s best resident DJ.
In 1988, he met Joan Caramba, and together they formed JDDJ&friends, one of the most sought-after DJ duos on Barcelona’s ’90s club scene. Between 1990 and 1994, they became the first DJs to fill La Monumental, Barcelona’s iconic bullring, on five occasions, drawing crowds of more than 15,000 to some of the city’s biggest parties of the era.
Although house music defined much of his DJ career, his heart has always belonged to the sounds of the ’80s: pop, Italo disco and early house.
A decade after his final set at Universal, DaniVersaL returned through Mixcloud to share his lifelong passion for music.
