Bart Van Dijck is a Belgian artist whose practice addresses the unknowns in the psyche and the collective consciousness. In his works he often looks at rituals and ceremonies as moments when a community expresses its identity and the instance when the individual and the group merge. He employs any kind of medium to manifest the fruits of his research on these subjects: performance, video, sculptures, photo - often several techniques combined into one installation. He documents the universal human identity in all its facets.
