Why Can't We?

So you may ask yourself, why can't we all just relax, why can't we be our best selves more often, why can't we live together in peace? Well. The answers (depending on who you ask) are various and complex, but virtually everyone will end up telling you That's Just The Way It Is. They may point to 'human nature' or they may blame capitalism or any of the other isms that drive politics and the economy all over the world ... I doubt you will find the kind of agreement about causes that would leave you feeling convinced.

Here's my suggestion: turn away from trying to understand the "we" question, and just focus on the one thing you can actually influence: yourself. Why can't I relax? Why can't I be my best self more often? Why can't I live together with other people in peace and understanding?
