@ the deep end

Doubling down, so to speak, on the deep lounge vibe, with multiple tracks from Wurrm, Sonanaut, 36, and Carbon Based Lifeforms, brings us in @ the deep end ... The hypnotic metallic hum of digital dreams broken briefly by the human voice. Can something be relaxing and disturbing at the same time? I'll let you be the judge of that....

Sonanaut is a name I encountered online around 2010, and I was happy to hear, more recently, tracks from his 2016 release, Whisper Truth to Power. The artist who goes by the handle 36 (or “3six”) had so many captivating tracks on Bandcamp, I bought the whole discography. Wurrm is one of the Cosmetiq group artists; the new EP, Nocturne, provides two of the tracks here. And Sweden’s Carbon Based Lifeforms remains one of my favorite deep ambient groups.
