An honour and privilege to be celebrating a year of Lorcan at Voices Radio. This month’s offering to the airwaves is a tour through some of my favourite purchases this month.
First few tracks are some minimal flavours, leading into some disco-tinged club tracks. Highlight for me is a Motorfunk record that had absolutely no right being in a charity shop bin in Crystal Palace. Both sides feature in this, ‘Champagne’ sampling the iconic Love Come Down with a lashing of vocoder and a rolling funky bassline. The other side ‘Same Difference’ features later on, an excellent tech house cut that’s similarly funk-laden.
Morgan Geist provides some M1 organs, Alexander Skancke with some goody goodies, and Franceso Farfa brings it home with a nice ambient palate cleanser from Shed to cap it all off.
