Shella-Ann has developed her own approach, a kind of cultural crossbreeding, which nods to the folklore of her youth while mixed in live looping consol. Her energy and unique presence expands and flourishes when she’s given a platform to express herself on matters and injustices too often silenced. Between many different instruments, we can choose to dance ourselves away or simply close our eyes for a moment and take a trip with her versatile sound. Shella-Ann takes her audience to a world in which love, mutual assistance, and sharing are all in a days’ work. Her Folktronic music transcends linguistic barriers with its own dialect. It aims to ignite consciousness, to unify diverse cultures, to gesture toward the solutions of collective action and self-sufficiency via so-called alternative means. Above all, Shella-Ann’s mission is to give the word, a roots folktronik piece of music who put live living in priority; all citizens of the same planets and made of the same energy.
